#Morrellgivesback: Working With El Centro Hispano

Besides helping Westchester families keep their most valuable possessions insured, Morrell Insurance also gives back to the community they serve. On Friday, February 8th, president Rick McClatchie appeared before a classroom of rambunctious Latin students who had recently immigrated into the country. Coming mostly from Mexico and Peru, these recent arrivals were eager to learn about their newly adopted country and form bonds with other students.

Helping them in the process is El Centro Hispano, one of the most active social service agencies devoted to supporting and strengthening the Hispanic community in White Plains and Westchester County. Since 1974, when they first opened their doors at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, they have been serving the community with a variety of services that no one else was offering.

Morrell Insurance helped in this cause, handing out Target gift cards to each of the students to help them pay for school supplies, snacks, and clothing.

“Giving back to the community we serve has always been one of the most rewarding parts of running a family business,” Rick has said.

And it showed. On the student’s faces. Along with the president himself.
